We love Real Christmas Trees!

There’s really something special about the scent of its fresh needles –
it truly is something to savour.

Here’s a guide put together by our Christmas Tree guru, Steve,
to help you find the perfect one.

Sizes of trees available from the My Christmas Barn range.

Types of trees available with prices starting from just £20.

We’ll help you find the perfect tree .
But how do you look after it? Here’s a few tips.

When it comes to shape, everyone has a personal preference. Some like trees to be narrow all the way up, others prefer them thick and bushy. But always choose a tree for the space you have.

Retain the netting cover while you saw the trunk level for it to stand upright.
Try to saw the base at an angle rather than flat.

Always buy a good strong stand – you don’t want your pride and joy falling over half way through your Christmas dinner.

(psst…you can buy a really good one from us!)

Fill the stand with water and keep the needles fresh by topping up the water
every couple of days.  Remember, Christmas trees can drink up to 2-3 pints of water per day.

Place the tree away from direct heat, such as an open fire or a radiator for the longest possible display of fresh, scented needles. Give it plenty of space so that air can circulate around it, too.

What to do with your tree when you no longer need it.

If potted put your tree outside.
It will blend with your current foliage and serve as a home for garden wildlife.

Use your tree as a “blanket” for your perennials.
This unique covering will protect your plants from the harshness of winter weather.

Cut it up and use your tree as mulch in your garden.

Create some new coasters for your living room!
Saw off the tree branches and cut the trunk into thin slices. Be sure to sand, stain
and seal to get them ready for your winter mugs!

Call your local zoo! Some zoos welcome Christmas trees as playthings for their animals!

If you don’t feel like repurposing, make sure to recycle!
At My Christmas Barn we can collect your tree for a small fee.
Ask us about it on the day of purchase.
